Andrew Beijeman / CEO


Appointed CEO in 2014, Andrew has played a key role in the development of Ātihau-Whanganui Inc with a view to, fulfilling its purpose of helping land and people flourish together. Well-versed in both agriculture and business leadership, Andrew was raised on a farm in Rangitaiki, has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agriculture and Horticulture, an MBA from Victoria University and joined Ātihau from a senior role at Landcorp. Andrew is supported by his wife, Sarah, daughter, Belle and son Otis.

Siwan Shaw / Business Manager


Siwan grew up on a Welsh sheep and beef farm. After gaining her agricultural degree she was inspired to learn about New Zealand farming. She embarked on a work placement at Limestone Down Station on the Waikato coast and, having decided to stay in Aotearoa, joined Ātihau-Whanganui Inc in 2012. As Business Manager, Siwan is responsible for ensuring Ātihau’s beef, sheep and dairy farming operations meet their financial and production targets. Siwan enjoys the challenge of making the most out of the farms while striving for high standards of animal welfare and environmental care.

Dan Adams / Business Manager Apiary


Dan Adams is from the Waikato and now lives in Ōwhango. He was appointed Business Manager Apiary in May 2019 following key roles in other major beekeeping operations. After pivoting from a career in newspaper journalism to train as a beekeeper in the mid-2000s, he has been involved with honey and particularly Mānuka honey ever since. The Apiary business produced a record crop and yield in 2019/20, and Dan believes it has huge potential yet to grow, producing a globally-recognised export product and creating local employment. The long-term strategy he is responsible for will use new technology, science-based beekeeping, and the constant care of our beekeepers to make Awhi Mīere a showcase of sustainable, ethical beekeeping, and a producer of the finest mānuka honey.

Whetu Moataane / Culture and Legacy Manager


Whetu is of Ngāti Uenuku and Ngāti Rangi descent and lives in Raetihi. He is a beneficiary of Ātihau-Whanganui Inc and is proud and honoured to be appointed as Tikanga and Brand Manager in 2018. Whetu brings to the role a Whanganui tikanga lens, wealth of knowledge and experience in iwi, people and stakeholder engagement and relationships, Māori education and communications. Whetu has worked for Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and the Ngāti Rangi Trust and brings to the incorporation his experiences and learnings from these entities. Increasing shareholder engagement on the farms and apiary is a priority for Whetu and his team as well as supporting and encouraging our rangatahi to pursue a career in agriculture and apiary.

Debbie Hyland / Chief Financial Officer


Debbie is of Te Atihaunui-a-Paparangi descent, was raised in the timber town of Kawerau and is a mother of three tamariki. Debbie is proud to be appointed to Ātihau-Whanganui Inc as Chief Financial Officer in 2022. Debbie’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce Degree along with a range of professional and organisational leadership programmes including FCCA (London) and Strategic CFO (University of Auckland). Debbie is a passionate and highly skilled governance and executive leader and brings a wide range of local, national and global experience across to Ātihau to enhance generational outcomes, incorporating and reflecting the Atihau values and legacy of looking after nature so nature looks after us.
